Penwest Penwest is a drug development company focused on identifying and developing products that address unmet medical needs, primarily for rare disorders of the nervous system. Penwest is currently developing A0001, or alpha tocopherol quinone, a coenzyme Q10 analog demonstrated in-vitro to improve mitochondrial respiratory chain diseases. Penwest is also applying its drug delivery technologies and drug formulation expertise to the formulation of our collaborators' product candidates under licensing collaborations. The Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to curing Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) through research. FARA grants and programs provide support for basic and translational FA research, pharmaceutical/ biotech drug development, clinical trials, and scientific conferences. FARA also serves as a catalyst, between the public and scientific community, to create worldwide exchanges of information that drive medical advances.
